The Access Recognition Awards will be presented on July 21, at Guelph City Hall and the deadline for nominations is June 19.

Celebrate Access
The Access Recognition Awards celebrate people, community groups, and businesses in the City of Guelph that are making our community more accessible for people with disabilities.
The Access Recognition Awards recognize two kinds of achievements:
- personal accomplishments by people with disabilities who have overcome barriers
- individual or business contributions to remove (or prevent) barriers for people with disabilities
These awards are presented to those who drive action that goes above and beyond legal requirements in order to remove barriers and improve accessibility in Guelph.
Eligibility
The awards recognize contributions that make a real difference in inclusion, participation, and everyday life for people with disabilities.
To be eligible, a nominee should be a resident of, business operating in, or a group based in Guelph.
Self-nominations are welcome for the awards. If a business is self-nominating, at least one (1) signed testimonial is required (electronic signature or a scanned copy of a signed letter). The testimonial must be written by someone other than the nominator, who knows the business, can describe the work and its impacts, and supports the nomination.
What to include in a nomination form
A strong nomination will include examples that show what the nominee did and why it matters. Some things you may want to include might be:
- Barriers that were addressed, prevented, or removed
- How the nominee’s actions contributed or who the nominee worked with to drive the change
- Who benefited from the nominee’s actions
